Wednesday July 8th. 2009 - Entering the MTC
Elder Runnels went to bed at 3am but was up and ready by 7:30am. Eager, excited and ready. We were in Orem by 10am ready to have breakfast at ihop. About 30 people showed up to have this last breakfast with ELder Runnels before he needed to report. It was awesome!! So much love and support from friends and family. His cousins that he had not seen for a long time came to see him off too. We had breakfast (his was free), took photos, and said our goodbyes. When it was time to head over to the MTC it all happened so fast. We drove in, pulled up to the curb, got out his bags, there was a sister there who gave us his mailbox number and there was a host missionary there to greet him and show him around. Of course, Elder Runnels knew him, I guess he was good friends with his brother (Elder Raynor). We were glad he had someone there he knew to show him around. We took one last photo with him and then we each hugged him one more time. (His mom, me-aunty Nikki and Aunty Yasmin). Of course we all cried. (He did NOT). Then he grabbed his bags and walked off. He didnt even look back. He was soooo happy and ready. We were left feeling very happy and very sad at the same time. We will miss him so much but know he will do great things for the Lord and come home an even greater man.
