Temple Square 7/3/09

We arrived at 9am this morning and our dear friend, Yasmin Heywood, was there to meet us.  We went straight to Temple Square.  We didnt plan to stop at the Family History Center there in the Joseph Smith Building but we noticed it and remembered that Elder Runnels was meant to have his 4 generation pedigree chart when he entered the MTC so we went to see if we could get it from them.  It was amazing!  He put in the name of his grandparents and up popped his geneology, many generations back.  We printed that out, went on a tour of the Beehive House which was Brigham Youngs Home and then we went to eat at the Lion House.  It was delicious home cooked food!  After that, we did a session in the Salt Lake Temple.  We were a little early so we sent Elder Runnels off to do initatories.  When it was time to go to the session we couldnt find him. Of course, he was making connections with all the workers who fell in love with him.  When we came out of the session everyone was talking about the Elder from Hawaii. One of the temple workers told him that he had never felt the spirit as strong in initatories, as he had felt with him in there that day.  Thats amazing!  His spirit and light is so strong, it draws us all in.  After going through the beautiful Salt Lake Temple (Elder Runnels first live session), we went over to the new Conference Center.  Its so huge and beautiful.  Then we went to the visitors center.  By this time we were getting tired (from flying all night too) and so we went to eat at the Golden Corral which is all you can eat Buffet.  Elder Runnels loved it of course and ate A LOT!  Hey, its all you can eat.  We were planning on going home after that but I guess the food gave us energy so we stopped in at Missionary Mall and bought almost everything he needed.  We got his shirts and another suit and his shoes.  We went home feeling extremely productive, happy and satisfied.
